1. Academic Level in Art or Design: Applicants should be enrolled in the third year or above of a Bachelor of Fine Arts, Bachelor of Design, or equivalent undergraduate program in art, design, visual communication, applied arts, or a closely related creative field. First- and second-year students are generally not preferred, as this exchange program requires participants to already possess a solid foundation in studio practice, technical skills, and creative development.

2. Strong Practical Studio Skills: Applicants should demonstrate outstanding practical ability in art or design. They should be capable of producing high-quality creative work and should show strong technical skills, craftsmanship, visual thinking, creativity, and problem-solving ability. As this program is studio-based, priority will be given to students who can actively contribute to practical workshops, collaborative projects, critiques, and final creative outcomes.

3. Portfolio Submission: Applicants must submit a portfolio of recent creative works as part of the selection process. The portfolio should clearly demonstrate the applicant’s technical ability, creative direction, practical skills, and suitability for a studio-based art and design exchange program. The portfolio may include works such as drawing, painting, illustration, graphic design, product design, textile design, digital media, sculpture, ceramics, photography, animation, or other relevant art and design practices.

4. English Communication Ability: Applicants should have sufficient English communication skills to participate in studio discussions, critiques, presentations, workshops, and daily communication during the exchange period. Perfect English fluency is not required. However, applicants should be able to explain their creative ideas, understand basic instructions and feedback, and communicate respectfully with faculty members and fellow students.

5. Motivation for Cross-Cultural Learning: Applicants should demonstrate a strong interest in cross-cultural exchange, collaborative learning, and creative practice in an international academic environment. As evidence, applicants are required to submit a Statement of Motivation of approximately 300–500 words explaining their reasons for applying, their interest in Thai culture and art/design practices, their willingness to share their own cultural background, and their readiness to collaborate with students from different cultural backgrounds.
Additional evidence may include previous participation in cultural activities, international workshops, collaborative projects, exhibitions, community-based art/design projects, or a recommendation from the home institution confirming the applicant’s openness, maturity, and suitability for cross-cultural learning.

6. Ability to Work Independently and Collaboratively: Applicants should be mature, responsible, and capable of managing their own creative work during the exchange period. They should be able to work independently in the studio while also participating actively in group projects, workshops, critiques, and exhibitions.

7. Recommendation from Home Institution: Applicants should be recommended by their home institution, preferably by a faculty member or academic advisor from the applicant’s art or design program. The recommendation should confirm the applicant’s academic readiness, practical skills, responsibility, and suitability for participation in a one-semester international studio-based exchange program.
