Overview
Activity Overview: Global Linkage: Intercultural Communication & Community Tourism
This program is designed for undergraduate international students to experience a long-term exchange at Naresuan University, focusing on the intersection of intercultural communication and sustainable tourism.
Duration: The program will run for one semester of the 1st semester in academic year 2026 between June 22 - Octover 26, 2026.
Key Activities: Students will engage in both classroom learning and practical field experience:
Community Project: The core of the program is a hands-on project where students will work directly with local communities to develop and implement a tourism initiative. This allows them to apply their knowledge of intercultural communication and sustainable tourism in a real-world setting.
Goal: The program aims to equip students with practical skills in cross-cultural communication and community engagement, while also promoting and supporting the development of ethical and sustainable tourism in the local region.
Practical Component (Fieldwork & Project)
The centerpiece of the program is the PROJ 499 - Community Tourism Project Lab.
Students will be divided into small, multicultural teams and assigned to work with a specific local community in the Phitsanulok area.
Their task will be to apply the knowledge from their coursework to develop a real-world tourism initiative. This could involve creating a new guided tour, developing a digital marketing strategy for a local homestay, or organizing a cultural workshop.
This practical experience will allow students to engage directly with local residents, learn from their culture, and contribute to the community's sustainable development.
* Courses are subject to change.
