Overview
Students engage in a variety of learning activities across the courses, including hands-on exploration of camping skills, campsite planning, and ethical outdoor behavior; discussions and group tasks that deepen their understanding of the history, philosophy, and leadership principles in recreation; practical exercises in sport management such as analyzing organizations, practicing leadership roles, exploring human resource cases, and evaluating sport marketing strategies; fitness-related activities involving physical assessments, interpretation of results, and the design of individualized exercise programs; and nutrition-focused tasks such as dietary evaluations, meal planning, and applying nutritional principles to exercise and sports. Additional learning experiences include sport psychology activities such as motivation analysis, stress-management practice, and goal-setting workshops, as well as coaching-focused tasks where students design training sessions, practice communication and coaching cues, analyze game strategies, and reflect on effective coaching methods.
